Practice Nurses

Our current nursing staff include:

  • Sister Pippa Burchell RN Dip HE
  • Sister Vicky Chisholm RGN

They are supported by three Health Care Assistants.

The Nurses have their own appointment times, offices and fully equipped treatment room. There are usually two members of the team on duty between 8am to 6.20pm. They will see you for dressings, leg ulcer care, removal of stitches, ear syringing, preventative health screening, weight management, blood pressure checks and smear tests. They also hold clinics for patients with Cardiovascular disease, Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Child immunisation and Travel advice, including holiday vaccinations. They can also give health advice and are available to return telephone calls at the end of each morning.

When making an appointment with the nurse please indicate to the receptionist the reason for the appointment as this will help to ensure that you are booked in with the appropriate nurse. The nurse may need to consult a doctor about your problem if your condition requires it.

Sister Pippa Burchell RN joined the practice in August 2008. Her clinical interests are in Travel Advice as well as general nursing practice.

Sister Vicky Chisholm RN was originally a Practice nurse fromĀ 1984 to 2010 and then she took a break from Nursing before joining the practice in August 2017. Her clinical interests are in Sexual Health and young adults.

Health Care Assistants

The practice employs three HCAs:

  • Mrs Joy Isherwood
  • Mrs Sarah Price
  • Ms Victoria Friend

Our Health Care Assistants help the nurses with basic nursing tasks. They provide a blood taking service every day. In addition to this they carry out blood pressure taking, health screening, new patient checks, urine testing and other general nursing duties. They also assist the doctors with their minor operations and contraceptive implant procedures.
